The Role
As part of our continued growth, we are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Registered Manager to provide senior leadership within our Residential and Respite Services. This is a pivotal role with strategic and operational responsibility for the delivery of safe, rights-based, and child-centred care for children and young people with complex needs.
You will lead on service governance, safeguarding, regulatory compliance, and quality assurance, and will act as the organisation’s lead professional for Care Inspectorate engagement and inspection activity.
Key Responsibilities
Provide strong, visible leadership in the delivery of safe, child-centred, and rights-based care
Ensure practice is fully aligned with The Promise, UNCRC, GIRFEC, and SHANARRI
Act as the designated lead for safeguarding, ensuring robust systems, safe practice, and a strong safeguarding culture
Lead on all aspects of Care Inspectorate registration, inspection, and regulatory engagement
Ensure full compliance with SSSC, Care Inspectorate, and national regulatory frameworks
Lead the planning, delivery, and review of high-quality, individualised care and support packages
Promote a culture of inclusion, positive risk management, and continuous improvement
Lead, supervise, and develop staff to maintain consistently high professional standards
Build effective partnerships with families, education, health services, and external agencies
Maintain robust care planning, recording, audit, and quality assurance systems
Contribute to service development, inspection readiness, and organisational growth
Drive positive outcomes and improved life chances for children and young people
About You
You will demonstrate:
A minimum of 3 years’ senior experience in children’s care, including Registered Manager experience
A relevant professional qualification (SVQ Level 4 or above, or equivalent)
Current registration with the SSSC and a strong working knowledge of regulatory and inspection frameworks
Proven experience leading safeguarding practice and managing complex safeguarding matters
Experience leading services through Care Inspectorate inspections and regulatory scrutiny
Proven experience supporting children, young people, and families with complex needs
A values-led leadership style with strong strategic, communication, and decision-making skills
A clear commitment to children’s rights, equality, inclusion, and continuous improvement
